the daily interrpution: cave singers interview.
drowned in sound (aka “the british pitchfork,” coined by my dear glaswegian friend) interviews derek fudesco of one of my favorite local groups, the cave singers, who– pretty weirdly– are bigger across the pond than they are here in america. it’s a pretty insightful interview, with fudesco joking that he and lead singer pete quirk together equal one songwriter, as well as why he feels that the cave singers are the best band he’s played in.
UNRELATED: my man jeff weiss has pretty OTM write-up on how, after initial “OMG NEW HOV JOINT” wears off, “jockin’ jay-z” shows the world’s greatest rapper on the slow decline. also, my boy pedram lists his 100 favorite songs of the 1990’s. (SPOILER ALERT: hootie and the blowfish, my favorite band when i was like eight, makes the list). the fader, the best music mag out there, has done a short feature and mp3 download of a really cool new artist called dog bite, RIYL el guincho.
