what douglas martin is thinking about RIGHT NOW.

t-shirt lovingly provided by little houses clothing. douglas martin loves free clothes.
+ “jay reatard” is the best band name of 2008 so far.
+ would someone be a doll and provide me with tickets to this? and while you’re at it, could you make it all-expenses-paid? KTHX.
+ this should go without saying: fleet foxes’ sun giant EP is my favorite piece of recorded music so far this year. whew. can you believe that i went almost two whole weeks without talking about them? me neither.
+ has anyone heard that times new viking record? goddamn; it’s so lo-fi, it makes buttons for north caroline sound like rumours.
+ who do i talk to about setting up a dinner date with that chick from glass candy? a booking agent, perhaps?
+ dear sub pop: douglas martin like no age. i can has advance copy of nouns?
+ 5 o’clock shadowboxers, the hip-hop duo [”duo” meaning myself and zilla rocca] that i produce for, will have a myspace page soon. we’re the ‘85 bears: we don’t play touch.
+ furthermore, to rope you indie kids in, here’s an inventory of sampled indie-snob bands i sampled for our forthcoming EP: espers, tiny vipers, the velvet underground, elliott smith, interpol, and emily haines. it’s pretty much going to be a game of “spot the sample” for most of you guys.
+ john darnielle is sick. or something. my dear glaswegian friend and i will be holding a candlelight vigil in observance.
+ “water curses,” the new animal collective joint, is proving one thing: they’re trying to make douglas martin look stupid for not liking them until recently.

How ace was it logging into my blog admin this morning and seeing “what douglas martin is thinking about RIGHT NOW” under my latest links. I love you too
Also, I totes nearly called you last night after the Twilight Sad, who were completely awestruck after selling out one of Glasgow’s most legendary venues (”this is our longest set ever, normally we play two songs and fuck off” + Pixies cover = awesome).
I actually was going to light a candle, but I am boycotting Catholicism despite it being Easter weekend.

I love how they primarily cover songs that sounds like they themselves could have written them [i.e. “Climbing Up the Walls” from the Stereogum Comp].
